Ashaz Merchant is a young Pakistani chess player who's already making waves! He's the first person under 12 in Pakistan to become a "FIDE Arena Candidate Master," which is a super cool chess title.

Ashaz started young, with lots of practice and help from coaches. He played in local and national tournaments, getting better and more confident all the time. This even led him to play for Pakistan in international championships like the Western Asian Chess Championship and the 2nd Asian Youth Chess Championship!

Ashaz's hard work and talent also helped Pakistan's team in the World School Team Chess Championship. He even won the National School Championship, showing everyone his potential to become a top chess player, maybe even a Grandmaster!
