Child's Body Forgotten on PIA Flight from Islamabad: Tragic Oversight
Family Endures Emotional Ordeal After Airline Fails to Load Child's Body on Flight
A family traveling on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from Islamabad to Skardu experienced immense grief and frustration after discovering their six-year-old son's body was mistakenly left behind at the Islamabad airport.
Ibrahim Asadi, a close relative, explained that the boy, Wajahat, had been receiving treatment at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi but sadly passed away on Thursday. The family made arrangements to transport his body on their return flight to their hometown in Kharmang for burial. Despite finalizing the cargo procedures early on Friday, the plane departed Islamabad without the body on board.
The horrifying realization struck the family only upon arrival in Skardu. They were understandably distraught and angry upon learning about PIA's oversight. Inquiries at the Skardu airport confirmed the airline's negligence – they had forgotten to load the body onto the plane. The news caused the boy's mother to faint, highlighting the immense emotional distress caused by the airline's mistake.
PIA responded by arranging for some family members to return to Islamabad to retrieve the body. They assured the family that the body would be flown to Skardu the following day. This incident has left the family traumatized and seeking accountability from PIA for their grave mistake.
