New Regulations for Hajj 2024 Unveiled by Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia Announces Updated Health Measures for 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage

Mecca, Saudi Arabia - In prioritizing the well-being of pilgrims amidst the ongoing pandemic, Saudi Arabia has implemented revised guidelines for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage. These regulations, established by a collaborative effort between the Ministries of Hajj and Umrah, and the Ministry of Health, leverage digital platforms to streamline registration and ensure proper vaccination status.

Streamlined Registration with Nusk Platform

Ensuring the legitimacy of pilgrimages, all participants are required to obtain a Hajj permit through the Nusk platform. This digital approach simplifies the registration process and offers crucial information for both pilgrims and authorities.

Mandatory Vaccination Verification via Sehaty App

To verify the vaccination status of pilgrims, registration through the Sehaty app is mandatory. This ensures all participants meet the necessary health requirements for a safe Hajj experience.

Vaccination Requirements for Saudi Residents

Residents within the Kingdom must comply with specific vaccination mandates. These include receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, influenza vaccine, and meningitis vaccine within the past five years. This approach safeguards both pilgrims and the broader community against the spread of infectious diseases.

International Pilgrims Subject to Distinct Vaccination Criteria

International pilgrims will encounter different vaccination requirements. They must be immunized against Neisseria meningitidis at least 10 days, but no more than five years, before arriving in Saudi Arabia. A certificate from their home country verifying this vaccination is mandatory. Additionally, for enhanced protection against communicable diseases, all international pilgrims must be vaccinated against polio.

These updated health measures reflect Saudi Arabia's commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of all pilgrims undertaking the sacred Hajj pilgrimage in 2024.
