Athlete with 100 Guinness Records Returns 500,000 Rupees to KP Government Due to 'Disrespectful Treatment'
Irfan Mehsood, a renowned athlete hailing from South Waziristan, has garnered widespread attention with his recent actions. Surprisingly, Mehsood decided to return a prize cheque worth Rs0.5 million to the KP Sports Department. Known for his exceptional prowess in martial arts and fitness, Mehsood has achieved an impressive feat of breaking 100 Guinness World Records.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with the treatment he received from the sports department, Mehsood took to social media to voice his concerns. According to him, officials exhibited disrespectful behavior towards him. The issue arose when Mehsood requested equipment for his club from the KP sports department. Instead of extending support, they engaged in bargaining, offering him a significantly lower amount of Rs0.2 million. Disheartened by this response, Mehsood asserted, "If you can't respect us, don't insult us."
Mehsood's remarkable achievements in athletics have earned him nationwide recognition, including the prestigious Presidential Pride of Performance Award. Notably, he holds the distinction of being the first Pakistani to secure 100 Guinness World Records. Among his notable feats is surpassing Italy's Marcello Ferri by lifting 63kg with his toe.
Irfan Mehsood's decision to return the prize cheque underscores his commitment to principles of fairness and respect, setting an example for athletes and officials alike.
