Pakistani Universities Make Strides in Young University Rankings

Over 30 Pakistani universities made it onto the Times Higher Education's Young University Rankings for 2024! This is a great sign that Pakistan's educational system is growing stronger.

While no Pakistani university cracked the top 100 this year, some did really well. The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) came in at 142nd place, and COMSATS University Islamabad wasn't far behind at 154th.

These Young University Rankings focus on universities that are 50 years old or younger. They look at things like how well professors teach, how much research they do, and how well they share their knowledge with others. They also care about how international the university is, but not as much as some other rankings.

This year, there were 673 universities on the list, which is more than the 605 from last year. There were also almost 500 other universities that gave the ranking people information but didn't quite qualify for a spot.

The top spot went to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, just like last year. Several universities from Hong Kong also did well, though their exact rankings changed a bit. Interestingly, Turkey had the most universities on the list this year, followed by India and Iran.

Here's a quick list of the Pakistani universities that made the rankings:
